Adam Z. Robinson is writer, performer, workshop leader and prize-winning author of flash fiction.


His writing for theatre includes UPON THE STAIR ("Everyone needs to see this show" - Reviews Hub), SMILE CLUB (★★★★ - The Guardian) co-written with with Andrea Heaton, and SHIVERS ("Kept me enthralled from the very beginning" - British Theatre Guide). His most recent play, UNHOMELY, premiered at the Leeds Playhouse in March 2024.


In fiction, Adam's stories 'God Save the King' and 'The story we will one day never tire of telling you' both won a Highly Commended award in the Bridport Prize 2023 and 2024 respectively. His story 'Assembly Line' was published in the Bath Flash Fiction Award anthology and his story 'Favouritism' won first prize in the Letter Review Prize for Flash Fiction. His story 'questions my mother the brain surgeon asked me during my operation' was longlisted for the Edinburgh Flash Fiction Award 2025.


As a workshop leader, Adam has more than a decade's experience of delivering creative writing workshops for people of all ages, both nationally and internationally. 


Adam's other writing includes: BELLE & MARY, a true crime play based on events from the 1930s, THE BOOK OF DARKNESS & LIGHT (national tours 2016 and 2017) CONSCIENTIOUS (national tour 2014) and SEASIDE TERROR with Odd Doll Theatre (national tours 2017-20).
